S MERIDIAN, EAGLE AZRAEL SPEKTOR (Violin, Guitar, Theatre) Azrael has always loved performing, whatever shape that came in. While in Kindergarten he would sing to his teachers in his own form of ‘opera’ but it wasn’t until the middle of his 6th grade year when he finally picked up his first instrument to learn: violin. Azrael's early education on violin included self-teaching and private lessons. He played in orchestra from 7th through 12th grade and learned how to play with a large group, read sheet music, and work on sight reading. He also learned the values of each part, from the complex notes and ranges from first violin to the more complex melody and rhythms from second violin. In his senior year, he was in multiple orchestras playing different parts, including viola, conducting beginning orchestra, and playing violin 1 and 2 in the intermediate and advanced orchestras. His family also had him join a Mariachi band where he played by ear and worked with a small group that played commissions in the community for many years. Azrael has received training in color guard, stunts, theatre, acting, stage fights, and theatre tech. He believes with passion that there is no such thing as a small part and has learned how to be quick on his feet with tap dancing, learning a whole new part a few weeks before opening, and to be really flexible with whatever comes his way. He has been in many different musicals and plays from comedic to serious, and is now a regular judge for drama districts and state here in Idaho! Azrael is very excited to get back into teaching, give his knowledge, and show his passion for what he truly loves to do! See other instructors here.
