EAGLE Bianca Alexandra Zogbi Bianca Alexandra Zogbi is the founder of Bianca’s Urban Dance Academy (BUDA) and a Marin County native. A dancer since early childhood, Bianca’s passion for movement flourished during her time at the College of Marin, where she received formal training in ballet, modern, and jazz. She performed in numerous productions as both a dancer and choreographer, and it was during this time that she discovered her deep love for hip hop. After earning her Associate of Arts in Dance, Bianca began teaching at Marilyn Izdebski Productions (later 23 Elephants), which marked the start of a dynamic career in dance education and performance. She went on to join a variety of Bay Area dance crews, including Funkanometry, Live San Francisco, and Inessence Dance Company, where she trained in Bachata. Her journey continued with Bachata Fever Academy, followed by competitive teams Auxiliary and Fallout in Santa Rosa, where she served as a lead female choreographer. Bianca’s performance career has taken her across the globe. She was selected to join a top competitive team in Idaho, proudly representing the United States at Hip Hop International in Los Angeles and the World Dance Championships in New Zealand. She also performed in South Korea at the Juju Fire Festival, further expanding her global perspective through dance. In 2017, Bianca was introduced to Krump, a raw and powerful street dance style that immediately resonated with her. She immersed herself in the culture, training directly with the pioneers of the movement, and was honored with the name Lady Merci. Today, she continues to train, battle, and study not only Krump, but also other street styles such as hip hop, waacking, and waving, sharing her passion while empowering others—especially young women—to move with authenticity, strength, and heart. In 2018, Bianca and her partner Kyle “Yurok” Mitchell co-founded Groundwork, a Bay Area event that celebrates freestyle street dance through battles, showcases, and authentic community connection. As the founder of BUDA, Bianca is deeply committed to providing youth ages 6–18 with high-quality education in hip hop and street dance. BUDA is more than a dance academy—it’s a space where students explore the culture, history, and technique of street styles while building confidence, creativity, and self-worth through the freedom of freestyle movement. Now based in Idaho, Bianca continues to lead BUDA by curating a dedicated team of top-tier instructors from the Bay Area, ensuring the same high standard of teaching and mentorship. She is excited to join the Idaho dance community and share her knowledge, while continuing to uplift and support the next generation of dancers. Her mission—shared by BUDA’s faculty—is to honor and elevate the culture of street dance, while helping young artists find their voice, power, and identity through movement. A lifelong learner herself, Bianca is always evolving so she can offer her students the very best. See other instructors here.
