Alexandra "Blackbird" Pierre Dance and Performance Blackbird is a quintuple threat performer, arts educator, and community builder. As a Professor of Dance, she has a Bachelors in Dance from Smith College in MA, a Masters in Education with emphasis in Cultural Studies, plus she is almost done with her Doctoral Research in Dance, Stress, & Performance Psychology (a true neurophysiology-geek). Blackbird is an eclectic Choreographer, Creative Director, and Coach in 70 styles of movement and performance arts. She has been performing in acting, dance, modeling, gymnastics, and sports since she was 4. She endeavors to make students feel at home in her classes and mentoring projects, as she understands the many different layers involved in the current generations. Whatever your goals, she strives to provide an all-inclusive, safe, encouraging, and creative learning environment. Blackbird is excited to share her professional industry experiences with Encore students and collaborate with staff. She is ready to give back to this community because guess what?
