Character Details: Roles for 2025
NOTE: Our leaders direct by example because we are actors and musicians ourselves. We trade off joining in the show ourselves and when that takes place, we audition in the same process as students do, and we leave the casting decisions of our own selves and our family members to others in Broadway at Encore leadership. For Broadway at Encore 2025, we held community-wide auditions in fall of 2024 and some roles were cast at that time, while some roles remain available still​.

Our hero and Maleficent’s daughter. Under her hardened, sarcastic exterior, she has a sense of justice and a heart of gold.

An eccentric, brilliant, English inventor and loving father and son. His inventions and children are his life.

An aspiring singer/songwriter. A unique, appealing, funny and vulnerable girl from a Jewish family in Brooklyn. Talented, good natured, unassuming and often the peace maker in difficult situations. A reluctant star with no pretense, and a passion for music.

Our story's title character. A big, green, terrifying ogre who lives alone on a swamp. He embarks on a journey to rid his land of fairytale creatures and, along the way, falls in love with Fiona. Begins as a grumpy hermit, but reveals his layers and eventually becomes the hero.
