EAGLE, S MERIDIAN JODI MILLER (Drawing, Mixed Media, Oils, Gold Leaf) After more than 17 years in the fashion industry and the decorative arts market, Boise-based artist Jodi Miller began to make the ultimate shift to fine arts in 2021. Jodi has become prolific in creating mixed media paintings that invite the viewer into their own journey of being more than what is seen on the surface. Jodi is passionate about conveying inevitable transformation in the symbols, subject matter, and themes of each piece that especially highlight the paradox of finding one’s true identity in the face of uncertainty. Surrounded by a family full of musicians and artists, Jodi is right at home in her studio in Boise’s West Bench. Jodi is currently working on a series of triptych paintings—pushing her personal artistic boundaries with color, pattern, transparency, light, and movement. ARTIST STATEMENT I’m an Idaho-based artist painting in abstract realism, exploring transformation—navigating the paradox of finding true identity in the midst of uncertainty. My paintings are multilayered with intuitive play, written prophetic hopes, texture, and mark-making—inviting viewers into their own story of who they are and who they desire to become. In addition to dreams, portraits, and patterns, I’m inspired by the use of light and transparency to define form and tell a story of determination and hope. See other instructors here.
