Teaching with Encore starting January 2025
S MERIDIAN KENDRIA ASHBY (Children's Art, Theatre, and Dance) Mrs. Kendria Ashby has a passion for the arts! She is excited to be part of the Encore team and to have an opportunity to teach. She has always dreamed of teaching theatre classes to children. She loves children! Kendria graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Children’s Theatre from Brigham Young University-Idaho. During her bachelor’s degree, she did a 2 year internship teaching at Act it Out Children’s Theatre in Rexburg and helped with their productions of Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. Kendria also has her Master’s degree in teaching theatre and her Idaho teaching license for theatre in grades 6-12. During her master’s degree, she taught stage makeup classes at Victory Middle School. She also taught several acting and musical theatre classes at Mountain View High School as well as assisting with their production of Cinderella. Kendria has been a lifelong artist. She started taking classes in dance, visual art, and theatre when she was in middle school and continued through college. She currently works as the librarian at Kuna High School. Aside from the arts, Kendria enjoys baking, board games, escape rooms, gardening, and spending time with her amazing husband. Kendria strives to make her classes fun for everyone and a place of creative expression.
