STAGE WRITING
Saturdays, January 11th and 18th

This immersive, hands-on workshop is designed for aspiring playwrights, fiction writers, and anyone passionate about creating compelling narratives for the stage. Come together with a community of writers to collaborate and create a musical theatre production for our upcoming showcase! Dive into the complexities of storytelling, character development and dialogue to write a memorable story our Encore actors will bring to life in May!
MUSICAL THEATRE SONGWRITING
Wednesday Thursday, January 22nd and 23rd

In Musical Theatre Songwriting, students will get to write songs for our big stage showcase in May, alongside our founder-director who's also an award winning singer-songwriter and film composer, with additional experience writing plays and musicals. The workshops will teach physical properties of rhythm, idea properties of melodies and lyrics, and emotional properties of chord choices and harmonies. Learn what makes a song catchy or heart-rending or anything in between, plus how to capture what you hear in your head into charts for other musicians to follow. Get a special and purposeful look at songwriting and have fun breathing the musical life into our coming productions.
STUDIO MUSICIAN RECORDING
Thursdays, January 30th, February 6th, and February 13th
7:00-9:00pm at Encore Eagle

Get a first-hand taste of the studio musician life. In Studio Musician Recording, students will get to be the studio musicians for the backing tracks for some of our musical theatre songs this season. Prior musical experience is required, as instrumentalists are expected to play in tune and be able to follow click tracks and chord charts. Students will learn about basic band building, self-arranging and recording technique for session musicians.
All workshops will be kept small, with up to 5 participants per series. Ages 12 and up. Reserve your spots below!
