(Homeschool and After School Tutoring, Early Learners Program)
The oldest of seven children, Debbie was told by a high school teacher that he believed her calling was to teach in a one-room schoolhouse somewhere in a small community. While she didn’t teach in a small community, her one-room schoolhouse began at her kitchen table home schooling her three daughters through high school graduation. When that was finished, she felt a little lost until her grandchildren came. When they were old enough, she continued her home schooling role - this time as Grandma.
Along the way she also took in other children for a year or two to help them catch up in their public school classes, and tutored others in various subjects on a short-term basis. Now that Debbie has finished schooling her grandchildren, she is anxious to be able to help other children succeed as well.
With 28 years of home schooling experience, Debbie is able to tutor most school subjects through the high school level. She is also able to connect individually with a child to find the best way to teach using their own learning style.
Debbie spends her free time crafting, gardening, teaching at her church, scrapbooking, and enjoying her husband of over 40 years.
