EAGLE KATIE BACKER (Writing, General Music) Katie Jones Backer “retired” from teaching high school history to adopt her daughter (nine-year-old at the time) and pursue her dream of writing. She (K.J. Backer) is the author of the Nav’Aria trilogy (adult fantasy) and a family-friendly pet adventure series, Pet Legends (kjbacker.com). Katie has experience as a magazine writer, has led Writing Tips talks as well as a writing group and book club. Beyond teaching writing and history, she has led movement and music classes ranging in age from infants to adults. She is passionate about reading and writing, pets, history and other cultures, working with students of all ages, and making learning FUN. Most of all, she loves spending time with her husband, daughter, tiny dogs, and tortoise! Check the availability for another instructor here.
